At BMB Dental Clinic, we offer both composite and porcelain veneers to satisfy different smile goals and budgets.

Veneers are restorations designed to conceal tooth imperfections and enhance your smile. In some cases, they can be transformative.

If you decide on dental veneers, your dentist will tell you what to expect after placement.

Types of Dental Veneers in Mona Vale, NSW

Veneers may conceal the following:

  • Gummy smiles
  • Worn teeth
  • Discoloured teeth
  • Slightly crooked teeth
  • Oddly shaped teeth

Composite Veneers

Composite veneers are typically less expensive than porcelain. They rely on tooth-coloured filling material in its malleable state. Your dentist can use this material to sculpt a veneer-type restoration to the front surfaces of your teeth. There are times we won't need to but in some cases, we may need to grind a little bit of tooth to place your veneer. Longevity varies, but your dentist can provide tips to promote a lasting result.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are fixed to the forward-facing surfaces of teeth. We may or may not need to grind a little bit of tooth to create a flush and non-bulky finish. Removing even a bit of enamel means the tooth must remain veneered for life. Otherwise, you’re vulnerable to infection and put the tooth at risk for breakage. If you damage a veneer, your dentist must repair or replace it. However, your veneers should enjoy a long life with proper dental care and good habits.

Dental Veneer Care

Dental veneer care is a lot like the upkeep you afford for your untreated teeth—brush, floss, and visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and teeth cleans. And never use your teeth or veneers as tools to twist open caps or similar. Avoid biting into hard objects like ink pens as well.

If you notice a damaged veneer or lose one, be sure to arrange a visit with the dentist as soon as possible.
