Normally, the term 'braces' refers to the braces placed on the outside of the teeth, known as Buccal Braces. In some cases, the brackets can be placed on the inside of the teeth to make them less visible. This is called Lingual Braces.
Brackets can also be made from different materials. Generally, stainless steel or porcelain brackets are used. In this case, porcelain brackets are considered to be more aesthetic due to their white colour and ability to match with the natural shade of the teeth.
